This project was created by a group of practicing managers in various business sectors. The project participants worked for many years in high management positions in various Western companies around the world, where they were responsible for interaction and promotion of their companies’ business in Russia, the countries of the former USSR, Eastern Europe and other “problematic” regional markets from the point of view of Western management. Project participants also repeatedly represented the interests of companies from Russia, the countries of the former USSR and Eastern Europe in Western markets in the USA, Canada and Western Europe, contributed to the promotion and development of the companies' business, built business strategies and, most importantly, successfully implemented them in practice . In general, project participants built business bridges between countries, markets and people. Sometimes these bridges were solid and long-term, sometimes very temporary to achieve local goals and objectives, but our business bridges were always strong, open to traffic in both directions, and traffic on these bridges took place according to honest, mutually beneficial rules. As a result of many years of work, the project participants not only acquired invaluable practical experience in business management in different regions, at the intersections of different, sometimes completely opposite and antagonistic legal, political, banking and other business systems, but also began to have a good understanding of what the mental differences in business environments in different countries and regions exist, as well as approaches to doing business.
Times are different, but even in today's very, very difficult times, we are confident in the pervasive power of business and private initiative. We are confident that companies and business people from different countries, despite serious political differences, can find points of mutually beneficial common ground. We also believe that markets are still partially open, interpenetrating and profitable, but it is necessary to act according to new, very recently built rules, monitor their continuous development and current changes, understand their internal essence and adapt to each specific business situation.
